Hi there! My name is Evgeny, and I'm a programmer. I love old video games, ice skating, and pelmeni.

I was born in 1987 and grew up in a small Belarusian town called Slutsk. In 2005, I moved to Minsk to study at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR). In 2019, I moved to Finland, where I've been living ever since.

My childhood dreams were related to computers, inspired by The Hackers movie. The dreams came true in 2000 when my parents bought me a new PC with Pentium III. I still remember that day, I was the happiest child in the world for sure :) From the very beginning, I became curious how games are made and how I could modify them. Next year, I started to create programs in Delphi, and in C++ a little bit later. It was clear to me that it is the thing that I had dreamed of. At university, I discovered passion for low level programming and x86 assembly language. Once in a few years I work on such projects days and nights forgetting about everything else for a few months, and then I return to normal life again :)

My nickname is VEG, and I like when people use it in informal conversations. It's an acronym of my family name, given name and patronymic. The right pronunciation is [veg] (rhymes with “egg”), not [veʤ] (don't make me a “vegetable”).
